The reason behind the concept of ElderTree was the professional experiences of a teacher who felt that she could offer a better learning experience for small children. After a period of planning and developing, the first branch opened in Al Hilal (Nursery) on 4 April 2004. It transpired that the programme offered was well-received by parents within the local community. Qatar University is situated on the northern edge of Doha, approximately 16 kilometers from the city center.
