The International Centre for Music offers students of all ages the opportunity to learn within a vibrant family environment while maintaining a traditional and personal approach to quality teaching in comfortable surroundings.

It was established in 2000 to provide academic excellence in music, ballet and art, reflecting the educational aspirations of Qatar itself. At the heart of ICM’s success is a team of dedicated teachers with experience and passion gained from leading academies across the world.

Their music students receive professional tuition in piano, violin, guitar, drums, voice and theory with opportunities to follow the internationally recognised ABRSM academic programme. Highly popular ballet and jazz dance classes are led by talented choreographers and performers while pre-ballet for young children teaches basic requirements including posture, positions, shapes and traditions of classical ballet in fun surroundings. Art lessons are offered in which the focus is on both art and craft activities that combine drawing, painting techniques, collage, appliqué and modelling.

Early Learning

ICM has developed a special class to introduce and encourage music awareness among youngsters aged 4 to 5 every Thursday from 3:30 pm to 4:15 pm. The Early Learning Programme offers an exciting, interactive journey into the world of music through fairytale characters who will help little ones explore notes and instruments and teach them musical rhythm and tunes.

Activities and Events

ICM also participates in several cultural and artistic events throughout the year. Students have performed in National Day celebrations, concerts and fashion shows and have appeared on the Al Jazeera television network. In addition, ICM works closely with hotel operators, local communities, event organisers and party planners to provide a variety of entertainment options for social functions, including customised music, dance, ballet and choral routines guaranteed to enthral audiences. The talented students and professional teachers are available for both solo and group performances.

Working with Schools

ICM’s professional reach extends to on-campus tuition for schools including Doha British School (Ain Khalid and Al Wakra) and GEMS Wellington School. Their partnerships are built on a mutual desire to offer quality music teaching for a wide spectrum of international students in primary and secondary grades.
