Made in Qatar Exhibition

Made in Qatar

In a bid to promote local products to domestic and international markets, Qatar Chamber (QC) is organising a bigger ‘Made in Qatar’ exhibition under the patronage of The Emir, His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani.

The four-day exhibition is beginning on 14 December and will see the participation of more than 300 local companies representing various economic sectors. Small and medium sector enterprises (SME) will showcase their products during the exhibition too.

Torba Farmers Market

Qatar Foundation (QF) has partnered with Torba Farmers Market, a Qatar-based initiative that aims to deliver organic and locally-grown food and homemade products, to host a weekly market in Education City.

Open to the public, the market is at the QF Ceremonial Court and accessible from Gate 2 every Thursday, 9 am to 4 pm and every Friday,  8 am to 11 am and 2 pm to 5 pm.

Flat Racing at Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club

QREC Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club

The races, which will take place every Wednesday and Thursday, 4:30 pm at Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club, is open to the public. Fun rides and other activities are organised for families and racing fans.

Choreography, graffiti, and documented public installation experiments comprise the exhibition. There are small moments, filmed inside throw away cars, and large questions, hung boldly on the façade of buildings.

Powder & Damask: Islamic Arms and Armour from Fadel Al Mansoori’s Collection

Dagger Khanjar Qajar Iran

Islamic arms and armour from the private collection of Fadel Al Mansoori. Including edged weapons and firearms from the 17th to the 19th century, produced primarily in Turkey, Iran and India. Powder and Damask explore the art of craftsmanship, which reached unprecedented levels in these regions under the Ottoman, Safavid and Mughal empires, where these objects were considered not only as weapons but also as works of art.

Al Reem Protected Biosphere Reserve Environmental Awareness Pilot Programme

Al Reem Protected Biosphere Reserve

The Environmental Awareness Pilot Programme administered by expert Desert Ecologist Dr Aspa D Chatziefthimiou, and Environmental Actions Organiser Jeanne Bédard, is designed in two parts targeting the general public through a free-of-charge educational tour, and an initial select student population in Qatar through scientific activities exploring the Al Numan Rawdat of Al Reem. Informational brochures on biosphere reserves and ways to be pro-active will be handed out. In addition, awards will be given to the top three participants who will pack a ‘zero waste’ lunch with the least amount of plastic.
