Lusail Stadium, with a capacity of 80,000 and venue of the Qatar 2022 final, is about to witness the Super Cup match this Friday, 9 September, between Saudi Arabia and Egypt.
To make commuting easy and convenient for spectators, Mowasalat (Karwa) will run a full stadium express service with a fleet of more than 900 buses to transfer local and visiting spectators to and from the stadium.
Express bus service
The stadium express bus service will commence four hours before the match and will continue until three hours from the end of the game to help spectators reach home safely. There will also be a ‘Park and Ride’ service for spectators with an option to park their vehicles in the dedicated parking zones and catch a bus to the stadium.
A special bus service was also deployed for visiting spectators attending the match from neighbouring countries and travelling to Qatar on chartered flights. This special service has run daily since Wednesday, 7 September, and will be available until Friday, 9 September, every ten minutes, from 12 pm until 9 pm, from Doha International Airport arrival terminal to the Al Doha Al Jadeed Metro Station, where fans could catch the Metro to Lusail stadium.
Fans at the Lusail Super Cup will also have the option to book Mowasalat (Karwa)’s brand new ‘Economy’ Service on the Karwa Taxi App, operated by partner Fox Limousines.
A dedicated fleet of 350 taxis will also ply the roads of Qatar for the Lusail Super Cup.
Mowasalat (Karwa) CEO Fahad Al Qahtani, said this is a significant tournament as it will showcase the readiness of the country to welcome guests and experience a world-class public transport system.
Quality and safety play a vital role at Mowasalat, but Al Qahtani said they are also on a mission to achieve net-zero emissions by 2030. Their team is working persistently to deploy more and more electric vehicles on the road, including newly-acquired fleet of electric buses, hybrid taxis and electric limousines.
Al Qahtani said that on the day of the crucial match at Lusail Stadium, World Electric Vehicle Day is also observed globally. He said he is delighted to share that part of the fleet is powered by electricity, adding that they involve technical innovation at every stage to ensure that they can adapt to the fast-evolving global transportation sector to connect Qatar safely and sustainably, with a green footprint.
