The 6th Qatar International Arts Festival (QIAF) officially opened at the Cultural Village Foundation (Katara), running until 30 November.
This year, the event sees the participation of 350 artists from 70 countries and features 1,000 exhibitors in the painting and sculpture exhibition, featuring a wide range of activities, performances, and events showcasing art and culture.
During the opening ceremony, Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti, Director General of Katara, expressed his delight in hosting the event. He highlighted that the festival aligns with Katara’s vision of enriching the cultural scene and using the arts as a means of fostering communication among people from different cultures.
He also noted the festival’s diverse offerings as a valuable opportunity for visitors to explore new artistic experiences and styles. Dr Al Sulaiti emphasised the importance of cultural exchange among artists from around the world, which enhances artistic dialogue and strengthens global communication.
The event is organised in collaboration with MAPS International, the International Council of Museums, and the British Council.
