Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) has announced its operating hours for the upcoming Eid Al Adha holiday, with all emergency and inpatient services across its network of hospitals operating as usual, 24-hours-a-day, seven days a week.
According to HMC Chief Communications Officer Ali Abdullah Al Khater, many of the outpatient departments will close for the Eid holiday, but clinical teams in all of their hospitals will continue to provide patient care in the Emergency Departments and across many essential services throughout the holidays. Al Khater is also the Chair of the Ministry of Public Health’s Healthcare Communications Committee.
The Emergency Department at the Heart Hospital (for cardiac patients only) and the Urgent Care Unit at the National Centre for Cancer Care and Research or NCCCR (for patients with symptoms associated with ongoing cancer treatments), will operate as per normal timings, as will the Emergency Department of the Women’s Wellness and Research Centre.
Dialysis services will also operate as per normal timings, as will the Paediatric Emergency Centres, which will remain open 24-hours-a-day, seven days a week for medical emergencies involving patients under 14 years old.
Majority of Outpatient Departments (OPD) will be closed on Sunday, 19 August and will re-open on Sunday, 26 August. OPD clinics that are open will be supported by administrative and clinical support services, including pharmacies.
The NCCCR Radiotherapy Unit will remain open during regular hours, 7 am to 3 pm, Sunday to Thursday. The Day Care Unit will be closed on 21 and 22 August.
If you have a scheduled appointment during the Eid holiday and cannot attend the appointment, please contact the Hamad Customer Service Centre (Nesma’ak) on 16060. Any patient requiring information about clinic operating hours, their scheduled appointment, or wishing to change their appointment, can call Nesma’ak. Nesma’ak will be open Sunday, 19 August and Monday, 20 August, from 8 am to 7 pm and will be closed from Tuesday to Thursday, 21 August to 23 August. It will reopen on Friday, 24 August from 2 pm to 10 pm.
