HE Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim Al-Sulaiti, General Manager of Cultural Village Foundation – Katara, obtained the membership of the American Qatari Institute in Washington.
The Qatar-America Institute (QAI) is a non-profit research institute that hosts an open cultural space to hold and facilitate intercultural exchange programmes and develop educational research on cultural and strategic relations between the United States and Qatar.
QAI works proactively to educate and provide the facts and interests that guide American and Qatari partnerships through study and analysis, and encourage peaceful dialogue to enhance cooperation and strengthen relationships and friendships between Qatari and American people.
The institute is active in many fields, including education and awareness. QAI educates the public in America and Qatar on awareness and cultural exchange related to politics, which is vital to the two countries’ strategic relationship.
As for research and discovery, QAI provides research and realities related to the economy, social and political collaboration between the US and Qatar.
HE Dr Khaled bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti first won the award in 2017 as the first government figure supporting Arab tourism, after an intense competition between several prestigious personalities working in tourism and heritage within the Arab world.
The achievement came during the ninth session of the Arab Tourism Media Oscars Awards for the Arab Center for Tourist Information in recognition of his efforts in leading one of the most important cultural and tourism institutions in the Arab world – the Cultural Village Foundation Katara.
