Arab International Academy (AIA) was founded in Doha, Qatar in 2016, with the goal of establishing an advanced international school that provides a rigorous, global educational experience. To achieve that goal, AIA has drawn on the very best of international philosophy in our choices of curriculum and approaches to 21st-century teaching and learning. AIA is an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School for the Diploma Programme (DP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP) and the Primary Years Programme (PYP). AIA has also received the Qatar National School Accreditation as well as CIS membership.
Vision
Arab International Academy (AIA) aspires to contribute to raising the next generation of informed citizens who can comfortably and confidently adapt to an ever-changing world. All AIA graduates will possess the necessary skills and abilities to lift communities up and address challenges while taking on the responsibility of being the stewards of the preservation and advancement of their own culture and civilisation. Indeed, they will understand and engage with the culture and civilisation of others, and interact with others on the basis of equality.
Mission
Arab International Academy works to provide students with an interdisciplinary curriculum that is rich, challenging and focuses on the integration of disciplines. The learning and teaching methodologies used to encourage creative exploration, critical thinking, and responsible behaviour. The environment equips students with the tools they need to engage with the complex and interdependent world around them in a productive manner whether at the individual or whole community level. In order to facilitate this integration, students at AIA start learning both languages, Arabic and English, in the Pre-School. As they progress, in addition to Arabic and English, they will be learning French as a third language.
Curriculum
Arab International Academy strives to implement rigorous, international academic programs that align with the mission and vision. Therefore, the Arab International Academy pursued and received authorisation for the IB Diploma Programme, the Middle Years Programme and the Primary Years Programme.
The goal of the IB Programmes is to develop the whole person cognitively, socially, emotionally, and physically. The IB programmes also strive to help students develop the ability to face challenges with an open mind and to cultivate an awareness of their identity and culture with an understanding and acceptance of others. The IB programme’s philosophy is designed to create students who are: thinkers, inquirers, communicators, risk-takers, and are also balanced, reflective, principled, caring, knowledgeable, and open-minded.
