The BISQ Under 13 Games will be held on 3-4 May with 13 British International secondary schools participating from around Qatar. The BISQ Games is a joint initiative of British International schools in Qatar, with PE department representatives collaborating to organise, led by Tom Bell, Director of Sport and Wider Learning at Doha British School.
Tom Bell, BISQ Games Coordinator 2019 and Director of Sport at Doha British School has the following message:
Welcome to the second and final instalment of the British International Schools Qatar Games 2019!
The British International Schools Qatar (BISQ) welcomes all competitors, teachers and supporting parents from around the country. This year marks the second anniversary of the BISQ Games and looks set to be more competitive, prestigious, and memorable for all those involved.
BISQ (U13) 2019 following on from the impressive U11 age group looks set to be the largest student sporting event in Qatar for British Schools, proudly held again in the prestigious Aspire Dome. The games will provide school competitors with not only a unique opportunity to compete in world class sporting facilities, but also celebrate the unique and collaborative community approach of British schools in Qatar, proudly brought together through the shared passion of sports.
The organisation of a tournament of this size and managing the logistics has been a challenge. It would not have been possible without the support, experience, and commitment from members of PE departments across the country, whose professionalism has been outstanding. Credit goes to those specialised and committed teachers, volunteers and sponsors who have helped create a tournament that celebrates our outstanding community.
