The renowned Peruvian-Japanese restaurant, Chotto Matte, has recently launched its exciting new brunch experience called ‘Tokyo to Lima’, and it’s one to try.
Qatar’s brunch scene continues to thrive, offering guests a variety of ways to relax and enjoy their afternoons after a busy week at work. This time, Chotto Matte elevates brunch to a whole new level, combining the finest Japanese and Peruvian flavours in the heart of Doha.
From the moment you step inside, the restaurant’s interior showcases a seamless blend of Japanese and Peruvian cultural elements. The thoughtfully designed spaces, striking visuals, and vibrant colour palette capture the dynamic urban energy of Tokyo, setting the stage for a truly multisensory brunch experience.
And now, the best part – the food! The friendly staff served everything right at our table with a set menu designed for sharing. We started with the Queso & Maiz Fundido, a warm, cheesy dish with sweetcorn that was incredibly comforting. Next came the sushi platter – the Spicy Tuna Hakbo Roll had a nice kick, the Salmon Avocado Roll was fresh and creamy, and the El Jardin Roll offered a light and vibrant mix of flavours.
The real highlight, though, was the Wagyu Spring Roll – crispy on the outside, with tender, rich wagyu filling that melted in your mouth. The Salt and Pepper Calamari was another standout, with a satisfying crunch and just the right balance of spice.
As we were enjoying the food, the lively crowd and the DJ added an unexpected layer of excitement, making it more than just about the food. The music and atmosphere really brought the place to life. Then, as the vibe picked up, the main dishes arrived. We tried the Salmon Fillet Den Miso – a beautifully tender fillet marinated in a rich chilli miso sauce, with a refreshing touch of yuzu and chives that perfectly balanced the flavours. The Pollo A La Brasa was equally impressive.

The mains were served with a crisp wedge salad, truffle mushroom rice (an absolute highlight with its earthy, creamy richness), and crispy papas fritas on the side, which added a satisfying crunch.
We saved room for dessert, of course! We were treated to a rich crème brûlée, warm and crispy churros, and creamy ice cream – the perfect sweet ending to a fantastic brunch.
Priced at QAR325 (soft package), QAR450 (enhanced package), and QAR550 (premium package), the Tokyo to Lima brunch is absolutely worth it. With its unique fusion of flavours and vibrant atmosphere, it offers a whole new level of weekend brunch experience.
