Under the patronage of HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of the State of Qatar, the 22nd edition of Doha Forum will take place on 7 – 8 December 2024.
With the theme ‘The Innovation Imperative’, the forum will bring together world leaders, policymakers, and experts to discuss innovative solutions to critical global challenges, including geopolitical tensions, security, humanitarian crises, and technological advancements.
HE Mubarak Ajlan Al-Kuwari, Executive Director of the Doha Forum, stated: ‘As the world faces unprecedented challenges, Doha Forum remains dedicated to fostering actionable solutions through dialogue.’
Each session will feature prominent participants such as heads of state, ministers, academics, business leaders, and NGO representatives. Topics will include:
- ‘Taking the Stand: Strengthening International Humanitarian Law and Accountability’, exploring legal frameworks for global crises, in partnership with the Munich Security Conference.
- ‘Where Have All the Peace Deals Gone?’, examining the erosion of diplomatic efforts with the International Crisis Group.
- ‘Shifting Arab Public Opinion and the Gaza War’, discussing evolving perceptions in the region, in partnership with the Middle East Council on Global Affairs.
- ‘A Future Rewritten: How the Taliban’s Vice and Virtue Law Could Reshape Afghanistan’, in partnership with the United States Institute of Peace.
- ‘Fostering Economic Security: Balancing Global Cooperation and Tech Sovereignty’, in partnership with the Japan Institute of International Affairs, focusing on technology and policy.
- ‘Global Governance and Policy: What Progress is Possible After the Year of Elections?’, presented with Chatham House, evaluating the impact of recent elections.
- ‘Uniting for Change: A Global Alliance Against Poverty and Hunger’, in partnership with Fundação Getulio Vargas, discussing innovative alliances to combat food insecurity and global poverty.
