COYA, the authentic Peruvian restaurant nestled within W Doha Hotel & Residences, celebrated yesterday its third anniversary with an exclusive fashion show, in collaboration with Pronto and The Abstract Agency. Shedding light on local designers, the event underscores COYA’s commitment to cultural enrichment in Qatar, seamlessly blending haute cuisine and contemporary fashion. Additionally, as the season of Ramadan approaches, COYA seized the opportunity to host a pre-Ramadan event, adding an extra layer of significance to the celebration.
Pronto, Qatar’s premier fashion-tech platform, curated a select group of four local designers for the evening’s runway. While The Abstract Agency, renowned for its expertise in talent management and producing specialised luxury events, ensured a seamless integration of fashion, lifestyle and culture.
Hosted by COYA to give their clientele and renowned guests an exclusive experience, the fashion show featured the distinctive collections of four designers:
Mhefhef, founded by Mashael Al Naimi, offering a unique blend of sustainable fashion and artisanal craftsmanship. Each piece reflected Mashael’s dedication to dressing healthy, incorporating all-natural materials and intricate handcrafted techniques.
Lovahbyfatima’s collection, a testament to creativity and perseverance, epitomized elegance and innovative design. Each piece reflected a journey of self-expression and creative exploration, showcasing a diverse range of abayas that spoke to the modern modest woman’s aesthetic.
Maryam Aldarwish, celebrated for her modern yet modest designs, presented a collection characterised by chic, asymmetrical, bohemian styles. Her designs captivated the audience with their unique Qatari fingerprint, blending sophistication with a contemporary edge.
Blacklisted, the brainchild of Ayisha and Eyman Mohamed, brought sustainability and boldness to the runway with their collection of modest fashion wear. Emphasizing comfort and daring style, each piece exhibited intricate details while remaining true to sustainable practices.
The event was attended by COYA’s loyal customers, VIPs and fashion enthusiasts alongside media and influencers. Guests enjoyed COYA’s special offerings for the night, featuring Peruvian-inspired bites presented as shared platters.
COYA is dedicated to preserving and celebrating the rich heritage of Latin American culture, an integral aspect of its identity that distinguishes it as a cultural ambassador in the culinary world. While honouring its Latin American routes, COYA is mindful of its presence in the market. This awareness prompted this activation initiative featuring abayas pre-Ramadan by local talents, demonstrating its commitment to cultural inclusivity and its role as a versatile and dynamic entity in Qatar.
In addition to the celebration, COYA announces its extended operating hours for the holy month of Ramadan. Throughout Ramadan, COYA will be open for Suhoor from 8 pm until 2 am, offering a special Suhoor set menu designed for social gatherings alongside its A La Carte menu, albeit with a reduced selection of items available.
