Katara Summer Camp 2023 continues its various activities with a package of rich cultural programmes and activities provided by professionals and experts.
Director of Public Relations and Communications at Cultural Village Foundation – Katara, Salem Al Marri, said that the camp offers a number of activities for various age groups that are focused on cultural and educational training.
The activities are diversified to attract children and meet their needs for entertainment and knowledge. Various government and private institutions are participating in the camp including the Ministry of Interior (MOI), Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, Qatar Red Crescent Society, Al Jazeera Media Institute, Nomas Center- Doha, and Al Ramii Sport Club. These institutions hopefully, would help the children fill their time at the camp with skills they need to support character development.
The camp activities are aimed to connect educational practice with Qatari identity, local customs and traditions, and for kids to develop social and religious values.
Accident-Free Summer Campaign
The Civil Defence is participating in the Katara Summer Camp with its Accident-Free Summer campaign. This awareness programme covers the common mistakes that potentially cause fires during the summer season.
The activity taught kids to respond to possible fire situations, methods of evacuation and escape from disasters, as well as using various types of fire extinguishers in the incipient or beginning stages of a fire. The children were much interested in the lectures and posed questions and enquiries to the Civil Defence team.
The Katara Summer Camp 2023 is ongoing until 15 August.
