Here are some DIY beauty masks from the expert tutors at Tajmeel: Qatar International Beauty Academy to keep yourself together until you can get back into your favourite salon and spa!
A Face Mask for Combination Skin:
You have combination skin if you have an oily T-zone but the rest of the face is either dry or normal.
The T zone (nose – chin – forehead) will benefit from exfoliation and application of the following mask twice a week. You can do your whole face with this mask on one of those two days.
- Combine half a cucumber, 1 egg white, 1 tablespoon of lime juice and 4-5 mint leaves in a bowl.
- Leave the mixture in the refrigerator for about 12 minutes.
- Apply the mix on the face and leave it for 15 – 30 minutes.
- Rinse it off with water.
Lime is an astringent that tightens the pores of the skin. It is also an excellent cleanser and toner. The mint is antiseptic and stimulating which is very useful for the skin with dilated pores. The egg white, which is rich in protein, gives skin its firmness and strength. Cucumber is good for moisturising, soothing, nourishing and regenerating.
Care for Combination Skin in general:
A milk-based or gel-based product will help keep the skin thoroughly clean and nourished. As with all skin types, always tone the skin after cleansing as it removes the last trace of dirt and makeup and minimises pores. A light moisturiser every morning and night is recommended for a combination skin.
