The Education City Speaker Series at Qatar Foundation will break new ground when they welcome the Minister of Culture and Sports HE Salah bin Ghanem Al Ali as guest in their latest edition.
His Excellency’s talk, titled Youth and Identity: Responding to Challenges, will mark the launch of the Education City Speaker Series Bel Arabi – a discussion held entirely in Arabic, reflecting Qatar Foundation’s role as custodian of the Arabic language, culture, heritage, and knowledge.
Held as part of the build-up to Qatar National Day, the online event, which will take place on 16 December, will see Minister Al Ali discuss how the youth can intertwine their identity and their aspirations, and the opportunities that are at their disposal to make an impact on the world. He will also explore some of the most pressing challenges that young people face today.
The launch of the Education City Speaker Series Bel Arabi – which will be moderated by education and youth development advocate Habes Howail – brings a new dimension to the dialogue platform that aligns with the commitment of Qatar Foundation to preserve and nurture the cultural heritage of Qatar and the Arab world, and the Arabic language.
Next week’s Arabic-only event will be the seventh Education City Speaker Series event to be held online, with its transition to a virtual platform following the onset of COVID-19.
The Education City Speaker Series Bel Arabi event will feature a 30-minute moderated discussion, followed by a 30-minute question-and-answer session. It will be available to view on Microsoft Teams, as well as on Qatar Foundation’s Facebook and YouTube channels.
