Grey Doha for PR and Advertising won two prestigious awards at the annual Middle East Public Relations Association (MEPRA) Awards ceremony recently, taking home the award for ‘Best PR Agency in Qatar for the year 2017′ and for its leading role behind the successful campaign ‘Support Local Products’ executed by Al Meera Consumer Goods in the aftermath of the GCC blockade.
The agency collected the silver award for ‘Crisis Communications’ category for its integrated Public Relations and Social Media campaign for Al Meera following the partial blockade on Qatar by many countries in Middle East that led to public concerns on food shortages. Al Meera, the country’s ‘favourite’ neighborhood retailer, handed itself with an opportunity to support the nation by taking the stance to become the first brand to speak positively of the situation and to demonstrate how Qatar can be self-sufficient.
The global advertising and marketing agency also took home ‘Best PR Agency in Qatar’ trophy after Grey Doha garnered votes for the Al Meera campaign as well as for its rich PR portfolio and performance for more than 13 years in the local market.
Krikor Khatchikian, Grey Doha General Manager said they are very proud for being recognised by industry peers who understand the market’s challenges and appreciate the communicators’ role in dealing with them.
The two MEPRA awards are a testimony of our team’s dedication and relentless efforts in providing a ‘famously’ effective wok. We say thank you to the local Qatari market that gave us the trust to prosper and succeed in our marketing journey.’
Denise Yamine, Director of Public Relations, Social Media and Events at Grey Doha also expressed her delight during the ceremony.
Today, PR and Social Media work hand in hand to bring brands closer to the minds of the public, and alongside Al Meera professional Marketing team, we made our best to voice the brand’s ethos using timely releases and 24-hours social feeds to effectively communicate the Support National Products campaign.’
