Frank Fan said that the Huawei University and Academy is their way of contributing to the development of future ICT talents around the globe, enabling to drive the technological innovation that will lead into a more intelligent world.
ICT education is not all about technical capabilities. It is about fostering ongoing collaboration between academia, students and the private sector, supporting the kind of lifelong learning that makes nations more prosperous in a global economy.’
Seham Hanafi said that there is an increasing need to ensure that the workforce of tomorrow is familiar and comfortable with the technologies that will power the smart future Qatar is progressing towards. He said that by partnering with Huawei, they are reinforcing their capability to provide students with top-class training opportunities that align with the breakthrough global technologies that are being adopted in areas of smart city development, the Internet of Things, and more.
Huawei Qatar was among the first technology firms to register 100% ownership in Qatar. In 2018, the company expanded and opened a new office at West Bay in Doha to help drive the development of Qatar’s ICT industry and support economic diversification in accordance with Qatar National Vision 2030.
