Thinking about where to have lunch on a Wednesday?
If you are planning for a quick getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city, add this to your calendar, and head over to Roberto’s Doha Restaurant and Lounge at The Residences Tower 8, 1st Floor, St. Regis Marsa Arabia Island, The Pearl Qatar.
Our recent business lunch experience there was delightful, especially with the option to dine on their balcony and admire the stunning backdrop of The Pearl Island. Despite the midday heat, they were well-prepared, ensuring a comfortable experience for its diners.
Now you may be wondering what Il Pranzeto means. Il pranzetto is an Italian term that translates to ‘the little lunch’ or ‘the small meal’. It usually refers to a light or informal meal eaten around midday, similar to a snack or a light lunch. And certainly, we’re in for a delightful experience!
To start our culinary journey, a complimentary basket of bread was served, and among them, the Focaccia stood out. Following that, we indulged in their tomato soup with homemade crostini and basil, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Additionally, we sampled their bruschetta, topped with fresh cherry tomatoes.
If you’re not familiar with the dishes on the menu, there’s no need to worry. The staff members are incredibly friendly and helpful, ready to assist you every step of the way.
On to our main course, we tried their Roasted wagyu striploin steak with jacket potato and gravy on the side. It’s rich and buttery, definitely melting in your mouth as you eat it. The meat is packed with flavour and stays wonderfully moist due to the fat content. It’s accompanied by a savoury gravy and jacket potato, making it a perfect combination. It costs an additional QAR70, but it’s definitely a must-try main course!
We thoroughly enjoyed the Roasted chicken breast and mashed potatoes. The roasted chicken stood out for its moist, well-seasoned, and perfectly cooked meat, cooked to perfection throughout. As for the mashed potatoes, they were delightful – buttery, creamy, and velvety smooth. Unsurprisingly, we both found ourselves loving every bite.
To conclude our meal, we were treated to an extraordinary creation: the Strawberry Cheesecake. This dessert transcended the ordinary, showcasing innovation in every bite. Skilfully crafted and artfully presented, it captivated both the eyes and the palate. The cheesecake was creamy and full of both sweet and sour strawberry flavours. It came with a refreshing scoop of strawberry sorbet on the side. It was a delicious ending to our meal, showing off the chef’s skills and making our dining experience unforgettable.
You really shouldn’t miss visiting Roberto’s. Not only can you soak in the stunning ambience and breathtaking views, but the culinary journey is also an experience not to be missed. As soon as you arrive, the excellent service makes the whole experience even better. The food is delicious and expertly made, showing off the skills of the chefs. Whether you’re having a business lunch or just relaxing with friends, Roberto’s is the ideal place to enjoy some really good food and great company. I am sharing with you the Il Pranzetto menu so you can check ahead of your visit.
