The Indian Sports Center (ISC), an apex body under the aegis of the Embassy of India, is planning to create a Guinness World Record for Maximum Nationalities joining a Yoga Lesson.
The event, scheduled on 18 March, Friday, from 7 am to 10 am, is aimed to showcase to the world the diversity of the expatriate community in Qatar and the harmonious lifestyle here. The event will be held at Katara Cultural Village, the venue partner.
Show of solidarity
The event is expected to add sparkle to the celebrations as Qatar gears up for the upcoming FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™. According to ISC President Dr Mohan Thomas, the mega event is also aimed to demonstrate the solidarity of the expatriate community for the World Cup and to welcome the world into what most expatriates here consider their second home.
MC member in charge of Yoga Nisha Agarwal shared that the simple demonstration of yoga will last for approximately 30 minutes. Another MC member Cyril Anand requested the support of the media and the community to successfully make a world record.
Following the current COVID-19 protocols, the event will be a restricted event, with registration for each nationality limited to the first three participants.
