The International School of London (ISL) Qatar hosted their first virtual graduation this year to celebrate the success of their 57 Grade 12 graduates. This is the eighth batch of students to graduate from ISL Qatar since the school opened in 2008.
Students, parents and staff enjoyed a virtual celebration that captivated them all, and took the audience through a journey of memories of the past year. The celebration highlighted the achievements of the graduates and the completion of their IB Diploma.
Head of School David Monk gave an inspiring speech to the graduates.
You will be the generation that emerged from COVID-19 and I hope that what you have learnt from this crisis will eventually bring about the changes that we all need to see.

Graduates of Class of 2020 have been accepted into some of the world’s most prestigious universities in the UK, USA, Canada, the Netherlands, Spain, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Australia, South Africa and Qatar.
Highlights of the virtual graduation ceremony:
- Reem Saifeldeen and Pablo Egger Prieto were honoured with Valedictorian awards in recognition of them attaining the highest academic standards, making outstanding contributions to the school and for being exemplary representatives of the Class of 2020.
- Arkan De Lomas was honoured with the Creativity Activity Service Award as the student who demonstrated excellence in all three strands of the CAS programme.
- Alejandra De Leon and Silvia Poyales received the coveted Learner Award as the student who had shown outstanding educational growth, improvement, commitment and intellectual development in their academic studies in Grades 11 and 12, respectively.
- Laith Al Rahmani received the Nadim Makarem Award as the student who personifies the values of the ISL Qatar, and who is an outstanding representative of the school with a positive attitude towards the life and culture of others.
