The second edition of the Education City Golf Club Masters Tournament presented by Fifty One East, which took place earlier this month saw over 100 participants looking to win some fantastic prizes, along with a special ‘Green Jacket’.
In line with the pristine golf course conditions that are seen on a regular basis at Education City Golf Club and Augusta National, the agronomy team ensured the greens had some Augusta-like speed and consistent roll for the participants.
Jon Mills was leading after Day 1 with an excellent score of +1 (73) over Myles Taylor and Paul Kelly +3 (75). Manon Marselis made up the top 4 player going into the final round with a superb +4 (76).
The closely fought Round 2 saw Myles Taylor drop out from the leaderboard early into the second round with a few mistakes made, but Paul Kelly kept his steady play all the way until the 18th Hole. Looking to take Jon Mills into a playoff, a short putt was missed on the 18th which ensured Jon Mills a one shot victory over Paul Kelly.
Chunghoon Kim, had an excellent final day score of 78, which was good enough to secure third place overall for the tournament.
The winners took home some excellent prizes from Fifty One East, who partnered with the Education City Golf Club for the tournament.
