Seriously Dark Chocolate Mousse
Delightedly, this week’s focus is on dessert, and for all you lovely people who adore something sweet at the end of a meal, I am sharing with you my Seriously Dark Chocolate Mousse. It is a delightfully decadent and yet easy-to-make rich and dark chocolate mousse. It’s my kind of quick dessert, perfect for serving in individual cups. Chocoholics, enjoy!
Serves 6 | Preparation time: 10 minutes | Chilling time: at least 3 hours or overnight
Ingredients
300 ml cream
250 g plain chocolate – chopped
3 egg yolks
3 tbsp strong sweetened black coffee
Decoration:
A heavy dusting of cocoa powder
Chocolate wafer biscuits – commercially prepared
Instructions
Make the chocolate mousse:
Heat the cream until it is about to boil.
Place chocolate, egg yolks and coffee into a blender. Pour over the hot cream and blend until smooth and ‘noise’ free!
Pour into small coffee cups or glasses. Chill.
Decorate:
Dust cocoa powder over the top and serve with chocolate wafer fingers biscuits bought commercially.
Jules Tip: Be warned this chocolate mousse is extremely rich and best served in small amounts.
