Cultural Village Foundation – Katara is all set for the spectacular launch of the 6th edition of the prestigious S’hail Katara International Hunting and Falcons Exhibition 2022 from 5 to 10 September. This year’s edition will be participated by over 170 local and international companies, 16 Arab countries, with other participants sponsored by a number of national entities.
According to S’hail Organizing Committee Vice-Chairman Mohammed bin Abdul Latif Al-Misnad, they are close to completing the plans for the exhibition, which, he said, has become a prime event for falconers, hunting enthusiasts and camping lovers not only at the local and regional level but also globally.
This is again evident from the great demand for registrations and participation from top global companies specialising in this field. Among these are distinguished American and European firms (that) have registered for this edition. This is in addition to Qatari companies and other companies from around the world.
Al-Misnad said they are continuously working on each new edition to create and see development, whether at the strategic or operational levels, or through the various services offered to the public.
Bigger than previous editions
The 6th edition of S’hail offers an exhibition area estimated to 20% bigger than previous editions. The main exhibition area will be divided into three halls, namely the tent, in which camping and hunting supplies are displayed and where the S’hail Auction for the rarest types of falcons will be held. There will also be a dedicated hall for hunting weaponry and their various exhibits. The third hall, meanwhile, will showcase specialised bird farms, plus dedicated sections for customised hunting vehicles and modern camping essentials.
As for the events and competitions accompanying the exhibition, Al-Misnad confirmed that there will be new offerings for falcon auctions and competitions, and for events. He added that visitors will also be included for the first time in the (hybrid) hatchery auction.
As for the competitions, Al-Misnad shared that they have worked on the renewal of the mechanism where visitors will also be involved in popular competitions for the ‘Most Beautiful Pavilion’ and the ‘Most Beautiful Falconhood’.
We have decided to open the door for voting by introducing cards and placing them in a box designated for the purpose. This will add interaction and enthusiasm to the competitions, for both participants and visitors at the exhibition.
He said that this is in addition to a new cooking competition, which is dedicated to hunters, details of which will be announced soon. And just like every year, lovers of delicious food will find their taste buds catered to at various specialised restaurants offering fresh hunting and fishing catch delicacies.
Reviving the country’s authentic heritage
S’hail is not only a place for hunting and falcon enthusiasts but also an exhibition that enriches the cultural value and revives the country’s authentic heritage. Al-Misnad said there will be cultural and art activities, including live painting sessions featuring a distinguished group of artists. There will also be poetry sessions and lectures on falcon breeding and hatchery.
The exhibition will follow the safety protocols set by the Ministry of Public Health although no specific number of visitors will be determined and children will be allowed at the exhibition. However, please note that all visitors are required to pre-register to ensure smooth entry and exit processes.
Organisers also developed the S’hail application to provide participating companies a virtual store for their products, with all related information on the app. This will have a significant impact on the promotion and marketing process. Other surprises in this year’s edition will be revealed soon.
The 5th edition of S’hail Exhibition was participated by 160 international companies from 19 countries, recording the highest sales so far since 2017.
