The Cultural Village Foundation – Katara recently awarded the winning artists of a photography competition and paid tribute to artists who joined and participated in the 9th Katara Traditional Dhow Festival, which was held from 3 to 16 December 2019.
Around 60 participants joined the photography competition. Saeed Mohammed Fayrouz won first place and the cash prize of QAR20,000. Imad Muhammad Ahmad Al Hajj took home the second place and prize money of QAR15,000, while Youssef Loulidi came in the third place and a cash prize of QAR10,000.
Jury members for the competition included Abdulaziz Rashid Al Kubaisi and Jassim Ahmed Al Buainain.
Eleven visual artists, including seven Qatari artists, participated in the 9th edition of the Katara Traditional Dhow Festival, performing live painting sessions at the festival site.
