Aside from the well-planned events and activities, Katara managed to implement a traffic strategy that allowed for easier navigation within the Village
The Cultural Village Foundation – Katara has once more proved its reputation as a favourite spot for families during Eid, as they hosted a variety of activities and shows dedicated especially for the holidays.
Strict traffic plans were put in place to ease the movement of visitors as the free club car shuttle service covered all areas inside the Cultural Village, including the short commute to and from the Doha Metro station in Al Qassar.
Some of the roads inside Katara were closed for vehicles to allow more walking paths for pedestrians and visitors, and ensure safety for everyone, in addition to lessening the traffic congestions. All the entrance and exit gates were also opened to the public to avoid traffic jams, in anticipation of the increased number of vehicles during the holiday.
Children enjoyed the allocated playground at the Katara esplanade, which also hosted a variety of activities and competitions for kids. Jumping castle, ball pit and mini train ride were also at the children’s play area to add more joy to the Eid festivities. Fireworks and a laser show, one of the main highlights of the Eid events at Katara, were held daily for the enjoyment of everyone who chose to spend their holiday here.
