The General Manager of the Cultural Village Foundation- Katara, Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim Al-Sulaiti, met the Cultural Counselor of the Embassy of the Republic of Sudan to Doha Abdel llah Abusen recently to discuss the enhancement of cultural cooperation between the Cultural Village and the Sudanese Embassy in Qatar.
The Sudanese Cultural Counselor presented a proposal to host a number of cultural events that will focus on the culture of the Republic of Sudan and introduce its cultural identity to the audience in Qatar.
During the meeting, Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim Al-Sulaiti praised their bilateral relations and eagerly welcomed the proposal, highlighting Katara’s role in building communication bridges between people from all walks of life, ensuring a beneficial artistic platform and facilities that aid in hosting successful events for all, Arab and non-Arab countries alike.
For his part, the Cultural Counselor recognised the rich cultural value that Katara has achieved since its establishment, making Katara among the forefront of cultural institutions worldwide.
Katara will host a Sudanese Cultural Forum next month, on 17 to 20 October. The forum will cover an array of events, including cultural exhibitions highlighting the Sudanese folklore, and exhibitions on photography, tourism, and archeology. An economic exhibition will also be scheduled and will comprise of 20 Sudanese companies which will exhibit their most prominent products. The forum will also include a series of cultural seminars, poetry evenings, and musical nights, which will be held with the participation of Sudanese writers, poets, and artists.
