The Cultural Village Foundation–Katara, Bedaya Center and the Youth Hobbies center, jointly hosted an exhibition titled ‘Shoot and Show your Profession’. The exhibition was inaugurated in the presence of the Deputy General Manager of the Cultural Village Foundation- Katara, Ahmad Al Sayed, General Manager of the Youth Hobbies Center, Mohamed Al Hajri, and the General Manager of Bedaya Center, Reem Al Suwaidi and a fascinating number of media representatives and photographers.
Photos and videos of the exhibition are selected from the 400 Qatar residents who submitted their entries for the competition held from October to December 2016. In line with Katara’s efforts to educate and involve the public in initiatives that combine arts with daily life, the competition theme was about depicting ones profession.
The launch of the exhibition also witnessed the announcement of the top three winners in the photography and videography competitions. In the photography category, cash awards were presented to Ronald Vinluan who won the first place, followed by Mohamed AlYaf’ie in the second place and Aisha Al Ansari in the third place. For the videography competition, the winners were Mohamed Al Ameen, Fatima Mohamed and Mohamed Al Yaf’ie in the first, second and third places respectively.
Commenting on the exhibition, the Deputy General Manager of the Cultural Village Foundation-Katara, Ahmad Al Sayed praised the various photography works that represents numerous professions in Doha, and said:
Katara is keen on supporting and encouraging such talents. The quality and diversity of these pictures and videos make us look forward to upcoming editions.’
The competition which began on the 1st of October, lasted until the 21st of December. It is noteworthy that the contestants received photography workshops conducted in collaboration with Entube Center.
