The Ministry of Interior (MOI) takes part in this year’s Qatar IT Conference and Exhibition (QITCOM 2019), organised by the Ministry of Transport and Communications, and ongoing at the Qatar National Convention Centre until 1 November.
The MOI is represented by a number of departments – the General Directorate of Information Systems, Security Systems Department, Cybercrime Security Centre, National Command Center, Communications Department and Electronic and Economic Crimes Department. Their pavilions present a large number of security systems and electronic services, introducing their latest systems and services to the public.
Among the new initiatives they introduced include an automated robot capable of face recognition, and a number of equipment, mechanisms and devices such as a drone aircraft. The latest systems developed at the National Command Center are also shown – the system is designed to respond to disasters and crises, with its own crime analyses system.
The Security Systems Department, meanwhile, showcased the use of modern technological equipment, including drones equipped with cameras to secure various activities, and a robot machine also equipped with a number of cameras that are used to serve security tasks in hard-to-reach areas and confined spaces.
The Cybersecurity Center at the pavilion also introduced the centre’s Central Operations Room, which enables them to respond quickly and deal with any potential cyber attacks. The Economic and Electronic Crimes Combating Department provided educational presentations on how to deal with economic and electronic crimes, and how to protect personal devices and credentials.
