The 3rd Aspire International Kite Festival, which opened last week and run until this Saturday, 9 March, attracted more than 20,000 people, with visitors enjoying the excellent ambiance of a sky full of bright and colourful kites.
The event which was organised by Aspire Zone Foundation, had a closing ceremony on its last day, awarding certificates to all participating schools and to winners of the best entry for this year’s photography competition.

- 2,500 students from various schools across Qatar attended the morning workshop sessions
- 300 vivid kites designed by international kite flyers were put on display
- 7,000 kites sold
Since it first launched, the festival has hosted over 20 local and international media representatives, and has also been a hit online, with live stories on Aspire’s social media accounts seeing 300% increase in viewers and an unprecedented levels of interaction.
