The event was held at the Mowasalat training centre and conducted in collaboration with the specialised team of the Department of Studies and International Affairs, Drug Enforcement Department of the Ministry of Interior (MOI). The sessions were held under the slogan ‘Be the Role Model’ and was focused on familiarising Mowasalat employees to the harms of drugs and alcohol. After the sessions, employees were encouraged to spread what they learned among their other colleagues in the company.
More than 800 employees attended the sessions. Lectures were organised twice a week with over 140 attendees per session. The programme included lectures that shed light on the harms of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and even medicinal drugs, that can lead to addiction.
The lectures also focused on topics such as identifying the causes and motivations of addiction and its effects on individuals, families and society, and on ways to address them early. The lectures covered possible ways to identify different types of narcotic and psychotropic substances, including medicines and drugs that are prohibited in Qatar, as well as the legal provisions concerning drugs.
At the end of each session, the team distributed collaterals and awarded attendees with certificates of participation.
