Several major road closures and traffic diversions have been announced by Public Works Authority of Qatar (Ashghal) to facilitate essential maintenance and repaving works.
Starting Saturday, 27 July 2024, the free right turn at the Islamic Museum Intersection on Corniche Street, for drivers coming from the Al Meena Intersection, will be closed for one week to facilitate maintenance work.
This closure is coordinated with the General Directorate of Traffic.
Additionally, there will be an 8-hour overnight traffic closure on the Sabah Al Ahmad Corridor for traffic coming from Hamad International Airport (HIA) toward the North on Friday, 26 July 2024, from 2 am to 10 am. Signal-controlled intersections and service roads will remain open during this period.
Furthermore, the access from Al Khafji Street at Duhail Signalised Intersection towards Doha and Sabah Al Ahmad Corridor will be closed starting Friday for one week, to implement road maintenance works on the interchange.
Ashghal has previously announced the temporary closure in one direction from Corniche towards G Ring Road for the two left lanes until Tuesday, 20 August 2024, to implement maintenance and repaving works.
During these closures, motorists are advised to use the alternative routes indicated on the map to reach their destinations. Stay tuned to @trafficqa on X for updates and further information.
