Banana Island Resort by Anantara, with its pristine beaches, lush tropical gardens, and an array of water sports and leisure activities, has long been a favourite summer haven for Qatar’s citizens, residents, and tourists alike. And for those who find themselves on this idyllic island retreat, Q-Lounge & Restaurant is one of the best destinations to indulge in a feast.
Q-Lounge & Restaurant is a culinary treasure that heightens the island’s allure. With its location beside the pool and facing the white sandy beach, it’s a must-visit whether you’re savouring the island’s delights during the day or your stay for a few days.

This season, Q-Lounge & Restaurant is unveiling a revamped menu to elevate their offering, and a select group of media members had the privilege of sampling their new tasting menu.
Leading the culinary journey are Executive Chef Ian Minnis and Executive Sous Chef Kishore Rout, guided by Outlet Manager Shakil Khan and F&B Director Akil Kissensing.
The starters set a captivating tone for the feast. Their Quinoa and Prawns Salad was a refreshing treat amid the country’s scorching weather. Along with it was an Avocado Caprese Salad that married Mediterranean freshness with creamy richness, while the Stuffed Eggplant and Haloumi dish showcased a symphony of textures and flavours.
For the main course, we had a Tandoori Crusted Salmon, smoky and succulent, served as a delightful reminder of the ocean’s bounty. The Royal Vegetarian Kebab was a celebration of seasonal vegetables and paneer, and the Lamb Shank Biryani will surely transport guests to the heart of India.
Yet, one of the highlights of the meal was the Chef’s Special, the Bamboo Biryani. An innovative masterpiece cooked inside a bamboo shoot, it bore witness to the chef’s creativity. The aroma and taste of this dish were a true ode to culinary innovation, offering a dining experience not often found in Qatar.
For dessert, Pastry Chef Basker Babu’s Coconut Meringue Tube was a sweet reverie. With its crisp exterior yielding to a creamy mixed berry centre, it provided the perfect conclusion to our meal.
Here’s an enticing offer worth considering: Banana Island Resort Doha by Anantara has extended its day pass this September for just QAR350 per person, which includes QAR200 in food credit that can be used at Q-Lounge & Restaurant. This makes the prospect of exploring the island’s amenities and indulging in a sumptuous meal at the restaurant even more inviting.
