Mowasalat (Karwa) flagged off 130 new Volkswagen Passat S 2018 Taxi Cars to join its fleet within a span of ten days. Mowasalat CEO and Managing Director Khalid Nasser Al Hail was there to personally flag the new vehicles, along with officials from Q-Auto and Mowasalat.
According to Q-Auto General Manager Ahmed Shariefi, the new 130 Volkswagen Passat S 2018 Taxi vehicles come with safety and security standards and spacious and comfortable interior for passengers, in addition to a spacious trunk. The vehicles are also equipped with electronic stability control (ESP). The car has six airbags to ensure the safety of drivers and passengers in the front and back seats.
Al Hail said that they aim to complete the upgrade of their taxi service, with vehicle standards, driver training, enhancement of Karwa Taxi Application, and technology upgrades. He said that they take note of customer feedback and take it back in the product development cycle to update their latest version.

Last July, the management of Mowasalat, made their service more economical and accessible to the public with the removal of additional booking fee. Al Hail said this has been well appreciated and manifested with an increase in their customer patronage.
The new look of the Karwa Taxi App also has additional features that makes it lighter (with less data consumption) and faster (quicker response time), and with more options:
- Passengers can get an estimated fare prior to booking
- No additional charges will be incurred on all bookings – current or advanced
- Option of taxi or limousine as per passenger requirement
- Sneak peak on the history of bookings
- Set destination address for best route and schedule as per calendar
- Rating the service based on the driver, vehicle and customer service
Mowasalat Government Relations Manager Khalid Kafoud said the Karwa taxi app may be downloaded from the Apple store (for iPhones) and Playstore (for Androids) or by scanning the QR code from the Mowasalat website and social media accounts. Taxi services may also be availed by calling their contact centre at 800 8294 for booking. Aside from taxi bookings, the contact centre also assists customers in cases of Lost and Found items, customer complaints and feedback. Data from this is fed are tracked and resolved, to retain their goal of ‘Customer Experience to Customer Excellence’.
