Aspire Zone Foundation (AZF) and Qatar Cancer Society (QCS) recently collaborated to host a Pink Walk at Aspire Park to mark the last day of the annual Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The event took all the necessary precautions to prevent the spread of COVID-19, making sure that participants had a Green Ehteraz Status and ‘normal’ body temperature.
The event started at 3 pm and finished at 6 pm with 50 participants. The rounds include a one-to-two kilometre walk around Aspire Park, and the participants were divided into two rounds, each round with 25 persons, to adhere to the social distancing requirements. AZF staff also joined the walk to ensure that participants were following procedure during the event.
Staff of Qatar Cancer Society distributed awareness booklets and gifts for all participants, and organised a small booth to answer questions from visitors in the park.
As a sports organisation, AZF focuses on promoting an active and healthy lifestyle among all community members, in line with the Human Development pillar of Qatar National Vision 2030, which aims to create a physically and psychologically healthy population for a well-rounded society.
