Qatar Airways recently organised a visit to the Centre for Empowerment and Elderly Care ‘Ehsan’ to show appreciation and raise awareness on the importance of empowering the country’s elderly people. Airline pilots and cabin crew presented residents of the centre with gifts.
Ehsan Executive Director Mubarak bin Abdulaziz Al Khalifa was grateful to Qatar Airways for visiting the residents who undoubtedly appreciated the visit. He said that the initiative encourages social responsibility towards society in general and on the elderly particularly.
In the Centre of Empowerment and Elderly Care ‘Ehsan’, we aim to partner with the government, private and civil organisations in order to achieve the ultimate goal of empowering the elderly people and ensuring that they are receiving the best care.’
Qatar Airways Senior Vice President for Marketing and Corporate Communications Salam Al Shawa, said the visit is part of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to appreciate the older generation for building Qatar and making it what it is today.

Ehsan Centre for Elderly Care provides the elderly with care services. They also help and assist in integrating the elderly into society and help them remain in their homes rather than at the centre facilities. The centre spreads awareness about the social rights and fundamental concerns of the elderly, in addition to maintaining inter-generational communication.
CSR is an important part of Qatar Airways values. Apart from Ehsan, they also support various organisations that are involve in providing assistance to the less fortunate in and out of Qatar.
The airline is the Official Airline Partner to Orbis UK for a further three years, supporting its blindness prevention programmes. It also continues to support the Educate-A-Child programme, which helps provide quality primary school education to millions of out-of-school children globally. The airline has also partnered with Shafallah Centre to provide special needs adults with employment opportunities at Qatar Airways.
