Qatar Airways Cargo wrapped up a highly successful participation at Air Cargo China 2018, where it launched its first brand video in the cargo carrier’s history and unveiled its redesigned exhibition stand. The brand video launch event drew many visitors to its booth.
Recognising the carrier’s investments and innovation in air freight and supply chain, Qatar Airways Cargo was awarded the ‘Best Air Cargo Carrier – Middle East’ award at the Asian Freight Logistics and Supply Chain Awards during Air Cargo China. This award is a strong indicator of the cargo carrier’s leadership and success and a firm recognition of its commitment to its customers.
Qatar Airways Chief Officer – Cargo, Guillaume Halleux, expressed gratitude to their clients and staff. He said they were humbled to receive the award and at the same time proud of all that they have achieved together as a team.

One of the world’s leading cargo carriers, Qatar Airways Cargo has added a number of key freighter destinations and enhanced its products and services. Some of its major milestones in 2017-18 include:
- Launch of the 2,470 square-metre Climate Control Centre, a specialised transit facility for temperature-controlled shipments
- Expansion of its QR Pharma network, covering more than 70 destinations globally
- Opening of a dedicated transit facility for courier and mail products
- Launch of services to ten belly-hold and four freighter destinations
- First international cargo carrier to launch dedicated freighters to Yangon and Pittsburgh
- Addition of the 13th Boeing 777F and two Boeing 747-8Fs to its freighter fleet
Perhaps the most outstanding achievement of 2017, was the role Qatar Airways Cargo played to break the impact of the illegal blockade imposed on Qatar. Overnight, the cargo carrier deployed a vast fleet of owned and leased aircraft to restore supply of food and commercial, while managing the logistics, warehousing and distribution to ensure supermarkets and businesses were fully stocked. They did this while maintaining service levels to their regular customers.
The cargo carrier is investing significantly in fleet and network expansion. With a fleet of 23 freighters, a further two Boeing 777 freighters will join the airline’s fleet this year providing increased capacity to the growing import and export market. The recent announcement of five additional Boeing 777 freighters will allow the cargo carrier to reach untapped markets globally. Qatar Airways Cargo was recently awarded the acclaimed ‘Global Carrier of the Year’ at the STAT Times Air Cargo India awards event held in February this year.
