Qatar Medical Student’s Association (QMSA), in collaboration with Qatar Foundation member organisations Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar (WCM-Q) and Sidra Medicine, is hosting the inaugural Medical Students Conference on Psychiatry and Mental Health this 15 February at Sidra Medicine.
The conference will deliver interactive sessions to equip attendees with strategies to maintain their mental health and promote personal well-being, as well as provide guidance for attendees who are considering careers in psychiatry and establish a hub for medical students from across the region to form networks and exchange knowledge.
The World Psychiatry Association and the Psych Student Interest Group at WCM-Q are also supporting the conference, which will be preceded by a day of networking among students and guests from Qatar and abroad. The event will feature workshops, seminars, activities and lectures delivered by medical students and world-renowned psychiatrists, psychologists and mental health advocates.
During the conference, medical students will have the opportunity to present their research in psychiatry, mental health, well-being, and quality of life. The research presented need not be based on data collected from medical students. There will be awards for the best research poster presentations.
Deadline for registration for the conference is 9 February and registration fee is QAR55 (US$15). Submission of research abstracts is until this Wednesday, 29 January. To register to attend or to submit a research abstract, visit mhc2020.com.
