Held under the patronage of HE Sheikh Abdullah Bin Nasser Bin Khalifa Al Thani, the Prime Minister and Interior Minister of the State of Qatar, and jointly organised by Qatar Tourism Authority and Fira Qatar, the seventh edition of Qatar Motor Show wrapped up after five days packed with engagement and innovation. Inaugurated by HE Jassem Bin Saif Ahmed Al Sulaiti, the Minister of Transport and Communications of the State of Qatar, the exhibition has thrilled motor fans across Qatar and the region.
Driven by Qatar Tourism Authority’s strategy to increase visitors to Qatar by 20% within the next five years, Qatar Motor Show has helped shed a spotlight on the world-class venues, facilities, event management services, and attractions that make Qatar a premium destination for business events. With 27 exhibitors and 15 partners, the 2017 edition was a testament to the success that stems from partnerships with the private sector.
Ahmed Al Obaidli, Director of Exhibitions at Qatar Tourism Authority, said:
‘We are proud to come to the end of another successful edition of the Qatar Motor Show. I would like to thank all our partners for their support in enriching this edition’s offerings and look forward to joining hands with them again in the upcoming years. We will continue to develop home-grown exhibitions that attract international visitors, and that cultivate home-grown talent capable of hosting large-scale events.’
True to its theme, “Driving to Innovation”, the 2017 edition reflected the show’s strategy to highlight the technological advancements shaping the industry today. The theme complemented the evolution of the show itself which transformed from its traditional format adopting a new, innovation-filled and experiential face. Visitors were introduced to the latest trends, hybrid cards, concept cars and super cars revealed for the first time in the region since its initial European reveal. Parades, interactive fan zones and competitions complemented the offerings and gave guests a memorable look into the world of the automotive industry.
Ahmed Al Mulla, Chief Operating Officer of Entertainment at Elan Group, said:
‘The 2017 edition has ended but it also marked the start of the “Driving to Innovation” theme that will go on for the next three years. This successful first year has paved the way for Qatar Motor show to become a platform and a hub for the latest technological advancements and cement its position as the preferred platform for exclusive reveals and launches.
