The Police College recently signed a letter of intent with the Police College of Fujian in China, represented by Director General Brigadier Dr Mohammad Abdullah Al-Mohanna, and his counterpart from the Chinese college, Lauroy Rong. The agreement was intended to share experiences in the scientific, educational and training fields and to support efforts of common interest.
The letter included aspects of cooperation between the two parties, which includes exchanging visits, as well experts and specialists in academic and training fields, cooperation in the organisation of educational and training programmes and activities to benefit all parties. The agreement also included exchange of information and opinions on issues related to academic and training activities that may improve the quality of their work.
Brigadier Dr Mohammad Abdullah Al-Mohanna said that the aim of the agreement with the Chinese is a joint desire for both parties to build bridges of cooperation and maximise each other’s expertise. Lauroy Rong likewise expressed his happiness with the signing of the letter, which he said reflected positive effort from both sides to raise the level of professional training and academic benefit. He added that Qatar Police College has the potential to make it as a leading college, with programmes and training plans that keep pace with the times.
The Chinese delegation also distributed certificates of participation to a number of officers and trainers from the military training department for their excellent performance in the exercises conducted by the Chinese Ministry of Public Security that lasted for two months.
