This Monday marked the start of the highly anticipated and longest-running event in Qatar’s annual social calendar, the Doha Jewellery & Watches Exhibition (DJWE). Now in its 19th edition, DJWE will run until Saturday, 25 February at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC).
The exclusive exhibition, organised by Qatar Tourism and Qatar Business Events Corporation, is held under the patronage of Qatar Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, HE Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al-Thani.
The launch was attended by the biggest names in Bollywood, alongside Irina Shayk, Nasser Al Attiyah, Mutaz Barsham and other celebrities. Unique to this year’s edition is an auditory element to the DJWE campaign, as an exclusive musical score is created by famed Qatari composer, Dana Al Fardan.
During the opening, HE Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al-Thani toured the elaborate pavilions created by Qatar’s leading jewellery brands. He also had a private viewing of some of their latest collections.
Over the coming six days, visitors to the exhibition will be treated to an extensive display of luxury collections from over 500 brands, featuring local and international designers together under one roof. Visitors can expect to marvel at the exquisite craftsmanship from the most prominent jewellers, limited edition collections and extraordinary showpieces. The event is truly a one-of-a-kind, and currently the region’s largest business-to-consumer show.

Official musical score by Dana Al Fardan
Dana Al Fardan is the exceptional talent behind the official musical score of this year’s Doha Jewellery and Watches Exhibition.
The theme, Azurite, is taken from her latest album Indigo, a study on the power and emotional relevance of gemstones. Azurite is a gem that symbolises inner strength and balancing emotions, and the song itself is composed in blue, to denote depth and hope.
Having worked in the jewellery industry with her family’s prominent local business, Dana Al Fardan is an inspired choice as the composer of the exhibition’s musical score.
Visitors are invited to register to see the exhibition free of charge. The exhibition will run until Saturday, 25 February at the DECC, easily accessible via the Doha Metro Red Line.
