Qatar Development Bank (QDB), in collaboration with Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry, NAMA Centre and the Ministry of Administrative Development Labour and Social Affairs, launched the second edition of ‘Made at Home’ Exhibition during a special press conference held this week. The five-day event will be hosted at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre, on 14 -20 October, under the patronage of HE Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.
The exhibition aims to encourage and support home-based entrepreneurs by offering them an opportunity to showcase their products and services to the local market. Now in its second edition, the first Made at Home exhibition witnessed the participation of 144 local home-based businesses. The total sales of the previous edition reached QAR 2.5 million and more than 15,000 visitors.
QDB is committed to support home-based businesses and contribute to the development of Qatar. QDB CEO AbdulAziz Bin Nasser Al Khalifa said they organised the second edition to encourage participation from more home-based businesses. He said that QDB will continue to support and empower these businesses, enhance their skills, improve their production level, and provide them with market access opportunities, until they transform into larger enterprises.
Around 250 exhibitors are expected to participate this year, showcasing a wide range of local products in sectors such as fashion, jewellery, arts and crafts, food and beverage, and many more.
