Qatar University Career Services Centre (QU- CSC) hosted its 11th Career Fair aimed at providing students with an opportunity to meet and interact with employers and representatives of companies for possible employment and training opportunities.
The four-day event, which started on 6 until 9 March, featured around 71 information booths from government and private organisations. Students had the opportunity to interact with employers, and get an insight into the labour market and of employers’ expectations. They also get the chance to avail of various training services and internship programmes that will help them develop their skills, abilities, and professional experience.
The event was inaugurated by QU President Dr Hassan Al Derham in the presence of QU officials and students. It opens to QU male students on 6-7 March; and to female students on 8-9 March.
Dr Hassan Al Derham said he was happy with the turnout as the fair brought together many organisations from the government and private sectors. He emphasised QU’s commitment to continually provide students with training opportunities to help them develop their competencies and assist them in building their future career.
CSC Director Maha Al Marri, was also hopeful of the students’ joining the local labour market. She said that QU is committed to provide Qatar with highly-qualified graduates and that the annual event is one way of helping students fulfil their career goals.
