Qatar Meteorology Department has issued a weather alert for Tuesday, 1 October 2024, with a chance of local rainy clouds, particularly in the middle and northern regions.
The forecast warns that some of these rains may turn thundery, especially during the daytime, and could bring strong winds.
Today’s weather highlights:
- Inshore: Thundery rain is expected, possibly accompanied by strong winds of up to 38 KT, leading to poor visibility in certain areas. Daytime conditions will be hazy and hot, but the arrival of local rainy clouds may bring relief.
- Offshore: Conditions will be calmer, with winds gusting to 20 KT at times and sea heights ranging between 2-4 ft, occasionally rising to 6 ft.
- Sea State: Inshore, the sea will be 1-3 ft, rising to 4 ft in some areas.

As we transition into October, the second month of autumn, Qatar’s weather is expected to shift towards milder conditions. The likelihood of cumulus cloud formation, particularly in the afternoons, will increase, and early morning fog may form, especially inland. Winds during the month will be variable, with northwesterly and northeasterly patterns becoming more common.
