The US Embassy in Doha is committed to safeguarding the educational pursuits of Qatari residents.
In recent months, there has been an increase in fraudulent offers claiming to promote educational opportunities, scholarships and training programmes in the United States. The US Embassy urges all Qatari residents to be cautious and not share personal or financial information in response to unsolicited calls, texts, social media messages, or emails.
Rely on the US Embassy to ensure you are on the right path for your US educational pursuits. We are here to provide reliable information on US university applications and educational opportunities free of charge.
The US Embassy offers the following:
- Accurate Information: We offer accurate, comprehensive and current information about opportunities to study at accredited post-secondary institutions in the United States.
- Free Information: We will never ask you to pay or provide banking/personal information to access our educational resources.
If you believe you have been the victim of an internet scam
- Do not send money. Unfortunately, any money that you might already have sent will probably not be recoverable.
- End all communication with the scammer immediately and contact the Qatar Ministry of Interior via the Metrash2 app and notify the US Embassy by sending an email to [email protected].
If the scam originated from a particular website or on social media, notify the administrators of that platform.
