Stemming from its vision to constantly enrich the local art scene through new initiatives and projects that promote local and international artists, the Cultural Village Foundation-Katara launched its second edition of ‘Katara Murals with the brushes of Artists’. On its second edition, the project is a reflection of the popularity of the mural art form while allowing artists to display their technique and proficiency.
In addition, the project aims to develop the artists’ expertise as well as to provide them a platform to interact with the public.
Katara has allocated a plain white space, measuring 100 metres, to decorate Katara’s walls during the month of February. Visitors are guaranteed the unique experience of observing a masterpiece evolving, as the artists will be creating the murals in their presence.
The second edition of ‘Katara Murals with the Brushes of Artists’ project entails 50 artists representing 16 different nationalities, promising to adorn the monochrome walls of the Cultural Village with mural paintings. The artists, invited from Qatar and abroad, are currently transforming their ideas into mural masterpieces.
This edition will be participated by a number of artists from Qatar and the region. The Ambassador of Austria in Doha, HE Willy Kempel will also be participating as an artist. The Cultural Village Foundation-Katara, will host the Katara Murals with Brushes of Artists project until 22 February.
