Knightsbridge experience
The architecture and décor at The Harrods Tea Rooms Doha aim to emulate the rich history and heritage of Harrods in Knightsbridge. Inspired by the elegant Art Deco interiors throughout Harrods from the early 1900s, the detailed marbles and stylishly coloured fabrics at The Harrods Tea Room Doha evoke a sense of intrigue, luxury and excitement.
The Art Deco theme is continued in the design of the staircase, which references the original 1930s interiors of the Knightsbridge store. The tiles alongside the grand staircase are inspired by colourful peacocks – a symbol of beauty, power and immortality, which can be seen spreading their gorgeous tail feathers feature in the tiling of Harrods Food Halls in Knightsbridge.
The iconic Harrods Green Men, renowned for their courtesy, helpfulness and efficiency, and who have been greeting guests at the Knightsbridge store in their recognisable uniforms since the early 1900s, will continue the legacy of welcoming guests to The Harrods Tea Room Doha.
Harrods has been inviting customers to enjoy their afternoon tea since 1911, when The Georgian Restaurant opened on the fourth floor. Since then, every detail has been meticulously perfected to give guests the ultimate afternoon tea experience for which Harrods is celebrated.
The Harrods Tea Rooms around the world each have their own unique design and identity inspired by the local culture of the destination. The Harrods Tea Room Doha in Msheireb Downtown is all set to bring a taste of Harrods all the way to the heart of Doha.
