United Development Company (UDC), has recently signed three agreements for the implementation of three major projects at The Pearl-Qatar. UDC is the master developer of The Pearl-Qatar and Gewan Islands.
The first agreement was signed with Orbital Education, a leading British educational group, for the operation of United School International, at The Pearl-Qatar. The school will cover an area of 44,000 square metres and will feature a 500-square metre library, a swimming pool area, and a 3,000-square metre open court yards. The three-storey school will adopt the British educational curriculum and will accommodate 2,500 students.
United School International will be the second school in Qatar to be managed by Orbital Education, currently the owner and operator of a growing group of international schools across the globe.
The construction of the school was awarded to Al Darwish Engineering Company, a leading contracting company and a key contributor to the construction sector, with prestigious landmark projects in the State of Qatar. Being a Grade ‘A’ classified contracting company in all trades of building, civil engineering, roads and infrastructure, the company proudly selects a highly-qualified team with the right expertise in supply chain management and construction techniques.
The third agreement was signed to award Ramaco Trading and Contracting Company to undertake the design and construction works for three gated compounds in the Floresta Gardens Precinct of The Pearl-Qatar.
The total investment value in these projects amounts to approximately QAR1.2 billion.
UDC President Ibrahim Jassim Al Othman signed the agreements with top officials of the three companies – with Orbital Education CEO and Chair Kevin McNeany, with Al Darwish Engineering Company Executive Director Dr Fahd Bakour, and with Ramaco Trading and Contracting Company Chairman Fahad Yaqoub Al Jaidah.
