W Doha Hotel & Residences opened its doors to another invigorating ‘WHAT SHE SAID’ panel discussion on Wednesday, 13 March with four of the nation’s most successful women. This particular WHAT SHE SAID, which is the third event of its kind to be hosted in Qatar, focused on the impact of art and film from the perspective of four inspiring Qatari women who have revolutionized the industry both locally and internationally.
More than 150 women attended the ‘WHAT SHE SAID – Art: Tales, Truths and Triumphs’ conversation about the speakers’ journey in the field of art and film and what it takes to be an artist or filmmaker in the Middle East today.
The conversation was moderated by Boutaïna Azzabi Ezzaouia, the Senior Engagement Producer and Facebook Lead at Al Jazeera English.
The four speakers; Bouthayna Al Muftah (visual artist), Hend Fakhroo (director and filmmaker), Abeer Al Kuwari (artist) and Amal Al Muftah (filmmaker) provided guests with an inside look into their lives, how they overcame both personal and professional obstacles and gave advice to the women audience.
Following the panel, guests were invited to join Bouthayna Al Muftah for an interactive and hands-on art activity where they created origami.
