Skyline Automotive, official distribution partner of the Hyundai Motor Company for the State of Qatar, has supported the country’s biggest non-professional basketball and volleyball championship -– W-League Qatar – in its most successful season yet. The news highlights Skyline Automotive’s commitment to backing a wide range of programmes and activities that make a positive difference to people’s lives.
The partnership with the W-League Qatar is the first in a number of initiatives planned in support of community groups, organisations and individuals in Doha in the areas of sport, adventure, art, innovation, education and health.
Skyline Automotive’s community engagement programme is inspired by Hyundai Motor Company’s focus on enhancing people’s everyday lives. Skyline Automotive is committed to such efforts in order to drive community development and participation by increasing the number and types of activities available to residents in Qatar.
Skyline will carefully select its community engagement partners on the basis of the unique offering they bring to the community, including their positive benefits and long-lasting impact. In general, these will be organisations and individuals who share the values of Hyundai to help people move freely and live well, and provide new experiences that inspire and enrich people’s lives.
Skyline Automotive Marketing Manager Johan Madarasz describes its efforts:
We are a local business and it is really important for us to support our community here in Qatar. Aligned with Hyundai’s vision, we want to become a long-term partner for our customers in ways that extend beyond selling top quality automobiles. Hyundai is already involved in large-scale, prestigious sponsorship activities for the FIFA World Cup and Olympic Games. We want to bring the same level of commitment to our partners in local communities, whether organisations or individuals, and to celebrate those people making a positive difference in society. We look forward to working with and welcoming anyone interested in hearing more about our engagement programme and looking for ways in which we can support each other.’
As Skyline Automotive’s first community partner, W-League received support for the 2016–2017 season, which includes Season 6 of the volleyball and basketball championship. The W-League is Qatar’s biggest non-professional basketball and volleyball championship, with 56 participating teams and over 1,000 players. Participation is open to everyone in the community.
Madarasz said:
The W-League was an ideal partner to start our community engagement with. We hope our involvement and support will enable them to put on bigger events and encourage even more participants. The team behind the W-League has worked really hard to provide exciting weekend sporting activities for the local community, helping enhance the everyday lives of those taking part. This is exactly the type of positive impact that we are looking to make in the future.
W-League Chairmen Nur Emir Manguinao welcomed the chance to work with Skyline Automotive, saying:
We are excited about our new partnership with Skyline Automotive. We feel we have found a partner that has taken the time to identify our needs as an organisation and offer the right level of support to help us achieve our goals and open new possibilities for growth.’
